Sustainability Strategy Report
To ensure that action is being taken to maximize the positive and minimize the negative consequences generated by tourism, Ontario’s Southwest has generated a Sustainability Strategy Report with the assistance of GreenStep Solutions. The result is a plan that will be used over the next 3+ years (starting in 2023) with focus placed on the areas of:
Sustainability Management System & Ecosystem
Business, Resident & Visitor Engagement, Education and Appreciation
Land Use and Infrastructure Planning
We recognize that this is one step in taking action to become more sustainable as an organization and region and we will continue to work through the action items within the report and do our part to build a local tourism industry that truly benefits everyone including residents, businesses, visitors, and the natural environment.
Ontario’s Southwest will share the progress in working towards the goals and targets included in the report.
